This App-Specific Privacy Policy applies to the AQIPunjab mobile application developed and maintained by MoonshotTech SMC (Pvt) Ltd. It supplements our Global Privacy Policy and explains specific data handling practices related to this app.
The AQIPunjab app provides real-time and forecasted air quality data across multiple districts and stations in Punjab, Pakistan. It uses your location (if permitted) to show air quality information nearest to you and may send relevant air-quality notifications.
The app requests approximate or precise device location to deliver localized AQI updates.
Your location is processed locally on your device only to determine nearby monitoring stations.
The app does not transmit, store, or share your location data with MoonshotTech servers or any third party.
Background Location Access: Some features (e.g., periodic AQI refresh or background notifications) may request permission to run in the background. This ensures you continue receiving up-to-date information even when the app is minimized.
You may disable location or background permissions anytime through your device settings.
The app does not track or store your location history, nor does it use your data for advertising or analytics.
The app requests permission to send notifications, including real-time AQI alerts or forecast updates for your area.
Notifications are optional and require explicit opt-in consent. You may manage or disable them in your device settings.
Notification tokens are processed solely to deliver messages and are not used for profiling, marketing, or third-party tracking.
Some devices may require the app to run in the background to reliably deliver notifications; this background operation does not involve collecting or transmitting personal or location data.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications. Firebase generates an anonymous device token that allows notifications to reach your device. This token is not linked to your personal identity and is not shared or used for analytics or marketing purposes.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
Technical Data: crash reports, performance metrics, and basic analytics to improve app stability and experience. These are collected without personal identifiers.
User Preferences: optional settings like saved locations or notification preferences are stored locally on your device.
If you opt in to usage or diagnostics sharing, the app may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized crash and performance data. This data helps us identify and fix issues more efficiently. Crash data does not include personal information or exact location and is processed in compliance with Google’s Firebase Privacy Policy.
The app does not share location, background, notification, or diagnostic data with MoonshotTech or any external entity.
Limited anonymous diagnostic data may be handled by standard app frameworks (e.g., Firebase, Expo, Google Play Services) solely for crash and performance analysis under their respective privacy policies.
We prioritize user data security by minimizing data collection. The app does not store sensitive information on remote servers. Any technical or diagnostic data processed by third-party frameworks is encrypted and handled under secure connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Location & Background Data: not retained or transmitted.
Notifications: processed transiently for delivery; no retention or cross-linking.
Diagnostics: stored only temporarily by third-party frameworks for crash analytics and automatically deleted or anonymized after processing.
User Preferences: stored locally and can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing its data.
You may also request verification or deletion of any diagnostic data handled by MoonshotTech by contacting privacy@moonshottech.xyz.

Control app permissions (including location, background, and notifications).
Request information about any data we process under our control.
Withdraw consent at any time by disabling relevant app permissions.
In alignment with Google Play policies:

Data Shared: None.

Background Access: Used only to maintain app functionality (e.g., refreshing AQI data, delivering notifications); does not collect or store user data.
Notifications: Optional; used solely for AQI or forecast alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
Crash Data (optional): If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled, anonymized crash logs may be collected to improve app stability.
Purpose: To display localized air quality readings and send relevant alerts.
Retention: No personal or location data retained by MoonshotTech.
Security: Data in transit is encrypted.
User Control: Full control over permissions and app data.
This app is intended for general audiences and not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
